About the Author
Graham St John grew up in Australia, and holds a PhD in cultural anthropology, specializing in electronic dance music event-cultures, freak rituals and media, neotribes and entheogens. St John has authored several books, including Global Tribe: Technology, Spirituality and Psytrance (Equinox, 2012), Technomad: Global Raving Countercultures (Equinox, 2009), and the forthcoming Weekend Societies: Electronic Dance Music Festivals and Event-Cultures (Bloomsbury). The author has been awarded postdoctoral Fellowships in Australia, United States, Canada, and Switzerland, where he recently began researching the global Burning Man diaspora in Europe. A frequent speaker at conferences, dance festivals, and visionary arts gatherings, he is also the founding Executive Editor of Dancecult: Journal of Electronic Dance Music Culture.

Fantastic Journey, beautifully written. It's such a dense complex subject and the book delivered me a richer person from the realisations I had from it. The collation of information is truly epic in scope, and has inspired me to gather everything I've created in my attempt at recreating the DMT experience and share.

An Overflowing Treasure Chest!

I haven't been able to put this 'treasure chest of a book' down for days; I'm loving it so incredibly much! Graham St John did truly remarkable job researching the cultural history of DMT and his wonderful work fills an extremely valuable niche. Great artwork too! I can't recommend this amazing book more highly; if this subjects interests you, then you must read this book!

An extremely thorough and well research volume

This is a stellar book, which is very thorough in the research. I know this for sure because the author interviewed me for this book, and I'd say only around 15% of my answers and data I provided to him ended up in the book. Anyone reading this book can see an enormous amount of work has been put into it, and for someone who knows a lot about DMT such as myself, even I learnt a lot from reading "Mystery School in Hyperspace"
The book is written in a cross between a dry academic tone and a gonzo journaling of the different elements of DMT culture past and present. It reads well for a non-fiction book of this nature, and the content is compelling, so the pages turn as if by themselves.
For sure, this comes off as a definitive and detailed analysis, while remaining objectively critical and offering different points of view, related to this extremely interesting subject matter.
