Dr. Mariappan Jawaharlal is Professor of Mechanical Engineering at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona. Affectionately known as Dr. Jawa, he has been recognized as an outstanding educator for his innovative and engaging teaching pedagogy. His innovative teaching approach makes learning complex concepts simple and fun as he relates them to everyday life. He has received the Provosts’ Award for Excellence in Teaching, the highest honor given to an outstanding educator at Cal Poly Pomona. Dr. Jawa is founder and director of Robotics Education through Active Learning (REAL), a unique K-12 outreach robotics program that reaches thousands of students each year. REAL has inspired thousands of young students to pursue STEM education. Dr. Jawa is also a co-founder of the Femineer outreach program, which the White House recognized for increasing educational outcomes and opportunities for female Hispanic K-12 students. A Fellow of the Biomimicry Institute, Dr. Jawa has more than 20 years of industrial, academic, entrepreneurial, product design and leadership experience. He is passionate about education and writes blogs on the subject for The Huffington Post. He is also a scuba diver and an avid runner who has completed 25 marathons and recently ran across the Grand Canyon Rim to Rim to Rim.

Great straightforward teaching guide for EV3 robots

As an elementary school educator I am always looking for ways to connect curriculum with meaningful activities and project based learning methods. Robotics engages and excites students in multiple subject areas.
Several years ago I had the privilege of being trained in the methods of teaching robotics under the direction of Dr. Jawa's (REAL) program at Cal Poly, I was forever changed as an educator and how I present my lessons. This book has grown out of Dr. Jawa's program and the years he has taught teachers how to teach using robotics. This manual will provide you with all the information needed to start and/or strengthen a robotics program. Each chapter clearly lays out student outcomes and progressively develops deeper programming knowledge as the student completes each chapter.
Having no experience with robotics to undertake teaching the subject could be intimidating, however by compiling his teaching strategies and methods in this book, Dr. Jawa has created a very thorough yet simple to follow teaching manual for educators, parents, or individuals to use as they bring robotics into the classroom, homeschool, or after school program. This book will strengthen student knowledge of building and programming robots using an EV3 kit. This is an excellent starting point for understanding computer programming.

El tema central de la historia me gust�, lo malo es que lo desarrolla todo muy r�pido y pierde cierto drama y misterio. Si la trama estuviera m�s desarrollada, si los sentimientos fue tan un poco m�s acorde a lo que dicen los personajes que van sintiendo yo segura daba m�s estrella.
